KAMRUNAG LAKE is a beautiful natural lake located at a height of 3,330 meter above sea level on Mandi Karsog road in mandi district of Himachal Pardesh India . Local people in himachal worship the dev kanrunag ji , In return the holy kamrunag full fill their wishes and protects them form harm.
It is said that the temple and the lake is created by pandavas during their exile OR there is another theory which suggests that Ratan Yaksh which was tricked by lord krishna in Gurudakshina he gave his head to lord krishna , which was placed here so he can watch entire mahabharat live.

The lake of surrounded by a forest of tall cedar trees and is at 5 km trek from nearest road on an average healthy adult takes (2-4) hr to climb the slope.

the best time to visit the temple is from April to December although i would avoid visiting the temple in monsoon due to heavy rainfall and unexpected weather (trust me i have been there) .

Every year on 14 June fair is held for 3 day at summit of mount kamrunag to see the beauty of true place i would recommend you not visit it during this time of year because thousands of devotees visit temple during these times and natural beauty and peaceful environment is filled with plastic and people. To see the natural beauty visit a day or two before the fair or month after the fair.

People throw money in the lake after the rain god full fill their wish shes , the legend says that center of lake is filled with gold and silver since in ancient times people only threw gold ornaments and coins instead of rupees and steel coins. well there is no proof to that and no one dares enter the lake or takes out the money except for the shrine management staff as seen by me on other day.

Priest is available every time except during harsh winter and necessities like blanket and bedding is available at reasonable rate. The rest house (sarain) is cozy once you burn fire to ward off cold .

How to reach KAMRUNAG
To reach kamrunag from Delhi
- Delhi to Sundernagar Himachal Pardesh 420 Km 7 hours.
- Sundernagar to Rohanda ( from where trek starts) 40 km 2 hours.
- Rohanda to kamru hill top 8 Km 2 hours mini (slow pace).
